Marathon du Vignoble d'Alsace has been held every June since 2005 around Molsheim, created by local running enthusiasts to showcase Alsatian culture. The marathon and 10 km start in Dorlisheim and the half in Scharrachbergheim, with the course following the Alsace Wine Route through vineyards and half-timbered villages. Aid stations along the way feature local producers, so you can taste the terroir as you run, the mood is deliberately festive, and the evening before everyone gathers for a 'Spaëtzle Party'. Alsace means Strasbourg and Colmar, Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and tarte flambée.
