The Maraton Juranda is a spring marathon in the Masurian Lake District: in 2026 it reached its 35th edition in late April, based in Lipowiec near Szczytno. All distances — marathon, half and 10 km — start together at 9am, and in the afternoon come the kids' 'Jagienka Races'. The names come from Sienkiewicz's novel The Teutonic Knights, whose Jurand of Spychów is a local legend. The course follows quiet roads among forests and lakes — an intimate race with a family feel. Szczytno and around offer the ruins of a Teutonic castle, lakes for kayaking and the Masurian Landscape Park.
