Maraton treh src (Three Hearts Marathon)

The Maraton treh src ('Marathon of Three Hearts') is a traditional May race in the spa town of Radenci in north-eastern Slovenia; its 44th edition took place on 16 May 2026. The day starts with walkers, an hour later the marathon and half marathon set off, and the evening brings kids' races and a concert. The flat course across the Pomurje plain proved very fast: in 2026 Kenyans Derrick Chege Njoroge (2:14:04) and Chelangat Sang (2:34:17) broke both course records, the men's mark having stood since 2006. It is a friendly festival for the whole town that even rain cannot dampen. Radenci is famous for Radenska mineral water and its spa, surrounded by the vineyards of the Radgona hills and the sparkling wines of Gornja Radgona.
