Founded in the 1970s, the Mugello Marathon is considered Italy's oldest. The course winds through the vineyards and olive groves of the Mugello area north of Florence, passing near the racetrack that hosts the Italian MotoGP. The terrain is hilly, but the Tuscan scenery more than compensates — one of the quietest, most scenic marathons in the region.
