Medvednica Trail takes place in late May in Medvednica Nature Park, just 10 km from Zagreb; 2026 saw its sixth edition. Start and finish are on Hunjka meadow, with a choice of Kameni svatovi 59 km, Ponikve 45 km, Plazur 29 km, Gorščica 15 km with gentle slopes for beginners, and a 5 km taster. The routes run through beech and oak forests, rocky ridges and paths towards the Sljeme summit. Around 400 adult runners from nearly 20 countries and about 100 schoolchildren take part, and the race counts for the UTMB Index and the ITRA national league cup. Zagreb offers its Upper Town and cathedral, Ban Jelačić Square, the Museum of Broken Relationships and a famous Advent market.
