The Meia Maratona Caravela Seguros in Braga takes place at the end of March; 2026 saw its ninth edition. Besides the half marathon there is a Super 5 km race and a 6 km non-competitive walk, so elite runners and amateurs share the start. Start and finish are on Avenida João Paulo II, and the half runs as one big loop around the city, showing it from every side. Braga is one of Portugal's oldest cities: the baroque stairway of Bom Jesus do Monte, the cathedral, churches on every corner and hearty Minho cooking such as bacalhau à Braga.
