The Fátima International Half Marathon was first held in spring 2025 and immediately exceeded its organisers' expectations; it takes place at the end of March with the backing of Rádio Renascença. The course is a single 21.1 km loop through Fátima's picturesque streets and the Cova da Iria area, closed to traffic on race day. It is a calm, uniquely atmospheric race in a town known above all as a pilgrimage site. Afterwards, visit the Sanctuary of Fátima with its vast esplanade and basilicas, the UNESCO-listed Batalha Monastery and the Mira de Aire caves nearby.
