The Mezza Maratona di Latina is a FIDAL national-calendar half marathon organised in spring by In Corsa Libera; it is popular with well-known Italian runners, and national-level athletes battle for the podium. Besides the half there is a 9.8 km race and a family walk. Start and finish are at the Campo CONI stadium on Via Botticelli, and the loop runs through the streets around the historic centre, past the town hall square to the seafront and back into town — a course the organisers describe as fast and scenic. Latina is a 1930s planned city with striking Rationalist architecture, and nearby are the beaches of Sabaudia, Circeo National Park and the Gardens of Ninfa.
