Midnattsloppet (the 'midnight run') is Sweden's famous series of evening races, and the Gothenburg edition draws thousands on a warm September night. The 10 km sets off at 21:00 from Kungsportsplatsen, winding through the city centre past the canals and the Avenyn boulevard before finishing at Götaplatsen. Flat 5 and 10 km courses, crowds and live music along the route, and costumes welcome — more running party than race.
