Midnattsloppet Malmö is the southern Swedish edition of Stockholm's famous 'Midnight Run', which the Hammarby IF club has organised since 1982. In late August, as darkness falls, runners set off on 5 or 10 km through central Malmö, on flat city streets past squares, canals and parks. As in Stockholm, it is more party than plain race, with music along the course, crowds of supporters and a festive finish. The flat route suits a first race as well as a fast time. Malmö offers the Turning Torso tower, the restaurants of Lilla Torg, Ribersborg beach and the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen.
