Mossarun is a trail festival in the forest at Lindås near Älmhult in southern Sweden, celebrating its tenth anniversary in September 2027. The Mossa trail links dozens of short, steep hills into one technical line: 90% singletrack, roots, rocks and endless ups and downs. Distances range from a 10 km loop and a single 17 km lap to 51 km, a 24-hour ultra, a 100 km point-to-point and 100 miles, whose start time is kept secret until the final hour while runners sleep at base camp waiting for their wake-up call. The motto is 'leave your ego at home': the race is charitable at its core, actively supports women in the sport and feeds finishers wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and vegan soup. Småland means forests, lakes and red cottages, and Älmhult is the birthplace of IKEA, with its own museum.
