The Napf-Marathon is an October mountain marathon in Trubschachen, which in 2026 will be held for the 37th time. The course heads into the pre-Alpine hills of the Emmental towards the Napf massif, with steep climbs and descents, brooks, meadows and forests, and October weather can add rain and cold, so the organisers honestly warn that it can be demanding. Besides the classic 42.195 km there is a 20 km mountain run, a team format with 20 and 22 km legs and Nordic walking. Trubschachen is a village in the heart of the Emmental, home of the famous holey cheese and of Kambly biscuits, surrounded by wooden farmhouses with huge roofs and trails over green hills.
