Coelmo Napoli City Half Marathon

The Naples Half Marathon runs along the bay with Vesuvius in view, and its symbol is Partenope, the mythical siren said to have founded the city. The course is fast and flat, but there's a catch: a long tunnel around kilometers 17-19 that runner reviews repeatedly call the least pleasant stretch — stuffy air, cobblestones, and a slight incline on the way back. Afterward, though, the Caracciolo seafront, the bay, and the whole historic center of Naples are all within walking distance.

The Caracciolo seafront and Chiaia district near the start are full of restaurants, but no single runner-favorite spot has emerged.

Aid stations at 5, 10, and 15 km and at the finish; some years runners noted the finish-line spread could be more generous.
