Running Under the Moon is a night race in Nicosia that has drawn thousands of runners for more than a decade, from seasoned athletes to first-timers. It is held on a June evening, once the daytime heat has eased, with 10 km and 5 km races and a 5 km team run for companies. Start and finish are at the University of Cyprus Sports Centre, and music, lights and crowd energy set the mood. After the finish, the celebration carries on with a party in the city centre. By day, explore Nicosia's old town within the Venetian walls, visit the Cyprus Museum and try halloumi and meze in the tavernas of Laiki Geitonia.
