Polmaraton Novo mesto
The Novo mesto Half Marathon is an autumn race in the capital of Dolenjska, next held on 14 November 2026. The half marathon, 10 km and 5 km start together at 10 a.m. in the town centre, and there are also 12 and 21 km walks, kids' races and an evening 3.5 km canicross. The course is a single 21.097 km loop with only about 60 m of climbing: first the historic centre, then almost entirely along the Krka river, alternating smooth asphalt with shaded riverside paths, crossing the Črni Kal bridge at km 8. It is billed as fast and sheltered from the wind, with a warm, human-scale atmosphere of volunteers and families. Novo mesto sits on a bend of the Krka, with Otočec castle on an island in the river, Dolenjska's vineyards and their Cviček wine and the Šmarješke Toplice spa nearby.
