NUTS Syöte takes place in mid-June at the foot of Iso-Syöte, Finland's southernmost fell. Friday evening brings a snappy 10 km loop and kids' races; Saturday features the 25 and 40 km. Routes run through Syöte National Park: fell slopes, ridges, technical sections and fast descents, with the Iso-Syöte summit on every distance; the format is partially self-supported with three aid stations. Start and finish are at LumiAreena, and afterwards there's hot soup, a sauna at Kide Hotel and a closing party at Tunturi Pub. Syöte is a quiet resort in northern Ostrobothnia for hiking, fishing and winter skiing.
