The Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon is a RunCzech evening half in mid-June: the 15th edition in 2025 started at 7pm with around 7,000 runners expected. Start and finish are on the Upper Square by the UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column and the town hall with its unique astronomical clock, and the course passes parks and historic buildings in one of Moravia's most beautiful cities. It is fast: records stand at 1:00:15 for men and 1:06:38 by Mary Keitany. Music along the route, pacers and a warm summer evening make for a special atmosphere. Olomouc offers Baroque fountains, St Wenceslas Cathedral, Svatý Kopeček and its famously pungent tvarůžky cheese.
