Oradea City Running Day

Oradea City Running Day has been held every September since 2010 and is now the leading running festival of north-western Romania, drawing runners from across Europe and even overseas. There is something for everyone: a half marathon, a 4×5.2 km relay for teams of friends and colleagues, 10.5 km and 5 km races, and a kids' cross for the youngest. The course runs through the city's streets, turning the race into a tour of one of Romania's most elegant towns. From the start, the organisers conceived it as a way to showcase Oradea through sports tourism — and it works. Oradea is an Art Nouveau gem: Union Square, the Black Eagle Palace, the fortress, the banks of the Crișul Repede and the Băile Felix thermal spa just a few kilometres away.
