Osječki Ferivi polumaraton is eastern Croatia's main road race, held in April; 2025 saw its 21st edition, with Kenyan runners once again lighting up the city streets. The course is flat and urban, passing Osijek's main landmarks, and alongside the half marathon there is a relay, a 5 km and kids' races. Slavonia's flat terrain makes it a good place for a personal best. It is a true city celebration, with the whole centre handed over to runners. Osijek offers the baroque Tvrđa fortress, the Drava riverside promenade with its footbridge, the bird-filled Kopački Rit Nature Park nearby, and Slavonian food famous for kulen sausage and paprikaš.
