The Palermo International Half Marathon takes place in mid-October and reached its thirteenth edition in 2026. Organised by Running Sicily, it offers a half marathon, 10 km and 5 km races and 10 km and 5 km Walkathons, so elite runners and families share the streets. October in Palermo is still summer-warm, turning a run through Sicily's capital into a celebration under the southern sun. It is an international race on the FIDAL calendar, drawing runners from across the island and beyond. After the finish: the UNESCO-listed Arab-Norman Palatine Chapel and Monreale Cathedral, the Ballarò and Vucciria markets with arancine and panelle, and sunset at Mondello beach.
