The Palma Marathon starts and finishes right by the La Seu cathedral — a two-loop course along the sea and through the old town's narrow cobbled streets. The first ten kilometers are fast and flat, but the second loop, according to runner reviews, feels entirely different: the crowds thin out and the shade nearly disappears — noticeable on the island in October. The finish area on the square in front of the cathedral, with free non-alcoholic beer, makes up for the heat.

Weather in October
Mid-October in Mallorca brings 13–26°C and almost always sun — the real risk is elsewhere: the coastal stretches of the course have almost no shade.

Reviews
JoJoRunner (RaceRaves)2017
Start and finish right in front of the cathedral. After 10 km the course turns into the old city — narrow streets and cobblestones were tough on me, but if I'm in Mallorca again at this time of year, I'll run it again.

On the full distance, the second loop is a different story — almost no one around, a bit spooky. Aid-station food was disappointing — unpeeled bananas and weak isotonic drink; there's almost no shade by the sea, so don't underestimate the heat and dehydration risk.
