The PKO Białystok Półmaraton has been held since 2013 and is one of Poland's best-loved races — runners rate it almost 4.9 out of 5, and the region named it a 'Podlasie Brand'. The course is a single city loop past Białystok's main sights, with a 5 km race and kids' runs alongside the half. It is part of the Crown of Polish Half Marathons, drawing medal collectors from all over the country. The atmosphere is warm and festive, with the city out in force. After the finish: the Branicki Palace and gardens, the cathedral, the Tatar villages of Podlasie and the Białowieża Forest a couple of hours away.
