The PKO Gdynia Półmaraton is one of Poland's biggest races: the next edition, on 24 April 2027, expects over 10,000 runners and coincides with Gdynia's centenary. The start is in the evening, at 8:30pm, so runners catch the sunset over the Gulf of Gdańsk and finish on the beach under the city lights. The course follows the streets and boulevards of this seaside city and is fast — the 2026 winner ran under 1:04. There is also a 5 km, relays and a Kids Run. Gdynia means 1930s modernist architecture, the Kościuszko Square seafront, the tall ship Dar Pomorza, with Gdańsk and Sopot's pier next door.
