The Międzynarodowy Półmaraton Piła takes place in early September: its 35th edition was held in 2026, making it one of Poland's longest-running half marathons. It is organised by the city sports centre, and its slogan is 'chase your records': one loop of Piła's streets with under 100 m of climbing, built for fast times. The whole town lives the race all weekend. Finishers receive a medal and a commemorative T-shirt. Piła is a gateway to its lakeland: the Gwda and Noteć rivers, forests for cycling and Drawa National Park nearby.
