The Purepower Backyard Ultra takes place in late August near Viborg. Backyard format: a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner is still going out. The loop follows forest trails, and the camp at the start becomes a small town with its own rituals between laps. Viborg is an ancient town with a cathedral, lakes and the start of the Hærvejen route; the Mønsted limestone mines are nearby.
