Race for Life is Britain's best-known charity running series, raising money for Cancer Research UK. In London's Hyde Park, flat 3K, 5K and 10K distances run on the same day along the traffic-free paths of the royal park. It began as women-only events (and the field is still full of runners wearing back-signs naming who they run for), but Race for Life is now open to everyone. The mood is emotional and celebratory, any pace welcome — a great summer 'straight-off-the-couch' run in central London.
