Green Park Reading Half Marathon

The Green Park Reading Half Marathon has run since 1983, when it started at the University of Reading with 5,000 runners; today it is a March classic and a popular tune-up for spring marathons. The fast, scenic route runs through the town centre and the university campus, and more than 15,000 spectators line the way for a finish the organisers liken to an Olympic stadium. A mini marathon and corporate challenge run alongside, and in 2026 runners raised over half a million pounds for charity. Reading offers its abbey ruins, Thames and Kennet towpaths, with Windsor and Henley close by.
