The XII Media Maratón Ribadeo-As Catedrais starts at 5 pm from Ribadeo's town hall, a town on the Galicia-Asturias border at the mouth of the Eo estuary. The 21.097 km course runs through the urban center before heading along the coast, finishing near Aguas Santas beach, better known as As Catedrais (Playa de las Catedrales) — one of Spain's most photographed beaches, famous for its sea-carved rock arches. Last year's edition drew more than 1,050 runners, including entrants from Brazil, Germany and Portugal.
