The Robin Hood Half Marathon takes place in late September and celebrates 46 years of running in Nottingham; 2026 was a record-breaking race day, with a mini marathon and team competition alongside. The route shows off Robin Hood's city: Nottingham Castle, the Victoria Embankment beside the River Trent and Wollaton Park with its Elizabethan hall. Brain Tumour Research is the headline charity, so the course is full of charity vests and cheering crowds. Nottingham offers its caves, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, one of England's oldest pubs, and Sherwood Forest nearby.
