Run Riga – Māras dīķis

The Māra's Pond stage closes the summer season of 'Izskrien Rīgu', the city running series held since 2013. On a Thursday evening at 19:30 the 1, 5 and 10 km and a 30-minute health run start together, with children's races at 18:30. The route loops around the pond and through Māra's Garden on smooth, comfortable paths in quiet Āgenskalns on the left bank of the Daugava. This is where the series standings are settled: besides awards for the 5 and 10 km, everyone who completed the season is celebrated — a warm send-off for runners and their families. Riga means a UNESCO-listed Old Town, Europe's largest collection of Art Nouveau on Alberta and Elizabetes streets, a Central Market housed in former Zeppelin hangars, and the Jūrmala seaside just half an hour away.
