Saalbach Trail & Skyrace

The Saalbach Trail & Skyrace is a two-day mountain festival in mid-August in Saalbach-Hinterglemm; it reached its 12th edition in 2026. Saturday brings the flagship 13 Summits Sky Marathon (47 km, 3,500 m of climbing) and the easier 9 km Soultrail; Sunday offers the 6 Summits Martini Skyrace (19 km, 2,100 m), fast 16 and 44 km 'speed' races, a 3.3 km Vertical Extreme with 1,000 m of gain and a six-hour challenge. The routes string together summits of the Kitzbühel Alps' grassy ridges, with long runnable crests and views of the Hohe Tauern and the Steinernes Meer. There are options for elites and amateurs alike, billed as 'two days full of emotions and breathtaking views'. In summer Saalbach is all hiking and bike trails, mountain huts and the lake at Zell am See nearby.
