The Salomon Hammer Trail Spring takes place in early May from Sandvig. The course covers Bornholm's northern tip — the granite headland of Hammeren with cliffs, quarries and Opal Lake — passing Hammershus, the largest castle ruin in northern Europe. It is one of the hilliest and most technical trails in Denmark: rocks, stairs and steep paths above the Baltic. Distances range from 8 to 80 km. Stay a while on Bornholm: Gudhjem's smokehouses, Svaneke, round churches and glassblowers.
