São Silvestre da Guarda is a traditional year-end 10K through the historic centre of Guarda, Portugal's highest city (around 1000 m) at the foot of the Serra da Estrela. The course winds among old monuments and granite streets, with 3K run and walk options for everyone. The cold mountain air and festive end-of-year mood make it colourful and memorable — a great pairing with a winter trip to the Serra da Estrela.
