Sätila Trail is a November trail race organised by the orienteering club OK Räven, based in the village of Sätila south-east of Gothenburg. The distances are 5, 10, 22, 43 and 85 km, with routes laid out around scenic Lake Lygnern. The routes cross hilly conifer and mixed forest, run along the water and over roots, rocks and moss; in late autumn the trails are often wet and muddy, and the short daylight adds to the adventure. Being club-run gives the race a friendly feel, or as the organisers put it, 'It's an experience!'. Sätila is surrounded by the lakes and forests of the Viskan valley, and Gothenburg, with its cafés, seafood and archipelago, is under an hour away.
