Semmering Trailrun

The Semmering Trailrun (Semmering Adventure Trailrun) is a spring trail race on the border of Lower Austria and Styria; the next edition is on 8 May 2027, with start and finish at Maria Schutz am Semmering. There are 4, 8, 14 and 28 km routes with 250 to 1,900 m of climbing, plus a downhill, a six-hour format, an uphill extreme, a 3×8 km relay, an easy walking option and even a dog category. The course crosses three summits above the tree line: conifer forest, rocky passages and exposed viewpoints. Every finisher gets a medal, there is live timing and a shuttle from the pass. Semmering is a historic resort of belle-époque villas and the Semmering Railway, Europe's first mountain railway and a UNESCO site.
