Zurich Maratón de Sevilla
21 February 2027 · Seville, Spain
pb courseflathistoriciconic
The Zurich Maratón de Sevilla is widely regarded as one of the fastest, flattest marathons on the planet — it's no accident that Ethiopian runners set personal bests and world-leading times here year after year. The course passes the Andalusian capital's great landmarks: the golden Torre del Oro on the banks of the Guadalquivir, the majestic Giralda, the Parque de María Luisa, and the Plaza de España with its famous curved colonnade. From 2026 the organisers made the route even flatter, removing the single notable elevation change — an underpass on Calle Arjona — and, for the first time, separated the start and finish points along Avenida de María Luisa. Seville's mild February climate, with little risk of heat, makes this race a prime hunting ground for a personal best. Afterwards, the city rewards tired legs with tapas bars in the historic centre and an evening of flamenco.

Reviews

The course is practically flat and wide, comfortable to run. The only less exciting stretch is the business park from the old Expo '92 near the Pelli Tower, but the rest of the route passes through all the city's main landmarks.
