Now in its 41st edition, Soria's half marathon honors Abel Antón, a native of Soria province and two-time world marathon champion (1997, 1999), while the accompanying 5K is named for Fermín Cacho, the 1992 Barcelona Olympic 1500m champion long associated with the Soria running school. Start and finish are at Plaza Mariano Granados, with the 21.097 km route winding through the city's most emblematic streets. The time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes. The race blends genuine athletics heritage with the start of the autumn racing season in Spain's high Castilian plateau.
