ultratrailscenichillyspringnational parknature
The Centurion South Downs Way 50 runs in April, reaching its 15th edition in 2027, and has sold out every year; it opens Centurion Running's four-race 50-mile Grand Slam. The 81 km route, with about 1,750 m of climbing, starts in Worthing and follows the South Downs Way National Trail over chalk ridges and sheep pasture with views to the Channel. It finishes with a lap of the athletics track in Eastbourne, where course records belong to Tom Evans and Julia Davis. The South Downs offer the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head cliffs, country pubs, Sussex vineyards and nearby Brighton.
