The Sparkasse Citylauf Villach is a summer evening race through central Villach; the 25th, jubilee edition is set for 30 July 2027. The main race is 6 km — three 2 km laps starting and finishing on Standesamtplatz at 7:30 p.m. — with a 500 m kids' race, a 2 km youth race and a corporate team event. The loop winds through the old-town streets, so spectators see the runners several times, and the summer dusk gives it a night-run party feel. It is flat and fast, good for a PB or a first race. Villach is a gateway to the Alps-Adriatic: an old town on the Drava, the Warmbad thermal springs, the Ossiacher See and Faaker See lakes and the Dobratsch mountain nearby.
