The Strasalerno Half Marathon takes place in late October and celebrates its 31st edition in 2026, making it one of the longest-running half marathons in southern Italy. A fixture of the FIDAL calendar, it draws runners from across Campania, and the mild southern autumn makes October perfect for a fast half by the sea. Salerno stretches along its gulf, so running its streets means sea air and water views. The mood is a warm city festival shaped by three decades of tradition. Salerno is known for the Lungomare Trieste promenade, its medieval cathedral and the Minerva Garden, and Amalfi, Positano and the Greek temples of Paestum are all close by.
