SwampMan Backyard Ultra is a backyard ultra in Alytus that held its sixth edition in May 2026. Every hour runners set off on a 6.7 km loop around Lake Didžioji Dailidė — about 2 km of road and 4.7 km of forest trail with only around 20 m of climbing — and spend the rest of the hour resting in a heated tent; fail to finish within the hour and you're out. The event record is 37 loops, nearly 250 km, and the winner earns a 'silver ticket' to the Lithuanian backyard team. Runners bring camp beds and chairs, there's hot food and drink, and supporters camp alongside for the whole race. Alytus is the capital of Dzūkija on the Nemunas, surrounded by pine forests, with the Nemunas Loops Regional Park and the spa town of Druskininkai nearby.
