Tacoronte is a town on Tenerife's north coast known for its vineyards (with its own protected wine designation) and its history as the seat of a former Guanche kingdom. The Ciudad de Tacoronte half marathon is the oldest race of its kind in the Canary Islands, drawing close to a thousand runners across the 5K, 10K, and 21.1K distances. The course is certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and includes the rolling elevation typical of the island's terrain.
