Talavera de la Reina, on the Tagus river in Castilla-La Mancha, is one of Spain's great ceramics centres, its glazed tiles decorating buildings across the country. The 38th Media Maratón Ciudad de Talavera (Memorial Aníbal Arévalo) is a long-running RFEA-certified race on the national calendar. It starts on Calle Alcalde Pablo Tello by the Talavera Ferial, with a 2h30 cutoff. The flat, fast course has built a reputation as one of the region's quickest half marathons.
