The half marathon of the Berenloop, Terschelling's island running weekend at the turn of October and November. The course mixes forest paths, dunes and North Sea beach — wind and sand make it tough, but the views make up for it. Places sell out early, and the whole island is in festival mode. Terschelling is reached by ferry from Harlingen and explored by bike.
