The Big Half has been run by the London Marathon organisers since 2018 and now takes place in early September, with a relay and a mile race alongside the half. It starts at Tower Bridge, passes through Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich and finishes beside the historic clipper Cutty Sark. It celebrates London's communities, with dedicated local entries, big crowds and a neighbourhood-festival feel. Greenwich offers the Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian, the National Maritime Museum, views of Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park and its covered market.
