The Trail des Dents du Midi is one of Switzerland's oldest mountain races, held for the 55th time in 2026. The flagship DDM|57 is a loop around the jagged Dents du Midi massif over high passes, scree and alpine pastures, and there are also 32 and 13 km races, a relay, junior and kids' races and a corporate category. The organisers focus on an authentic mountain experience rather than records: run at your own pace, encourage each other and enjoy the views over the Rhône valley, Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. Champéry is a cosy village in the Val d'Illiez, with wooden chalets and alpine traditions, a gateway to the Portes du Soleil ski area and, in summer, to trails leading to huts and waterfalls.
