Trans'Ju'Trail is the summer running sibling of the famous Transjurassienne ski race, created by Trans'Organisation after the 2007 ski marathon was cancelled for lack of snow. It takes place in early summer in the Haut-Jura, based around Lamoura, with several distances of different lengths. Courses follow the terrain skiers race in winter — spruce forests, high pastures grazed by Montbéliarde cows and rolling plateaus, with no extreme altitude but constant climbs. The Jura means Comté and Morbier cheese, vin jaune, lakes and views of Mont Blanc from the ridges above Lake Geneva.
