Generali Traunsee Halbmarathon

The Generali Traunsee Halbmarathon is an evening race along the Traunsee in Upper Austria; the next edition starts on Saturday 19 June 2027 at 7:08 p.m., under the motto 'running into the sunset'. Besides the half marathon there are 11.5 km and 5 km runs, a 4 km junior race and a kids' mini marathon. The route links the lakeside towns of Gmunden, Altmünster, Traunkirchen and Ebensee, sometimes right at the water and sometimes climbing above it, with the massive Traunstein rising over the lake. The summer evening light and the crowds along the shore make it one of Austria's most scenic half marathons. Gmunden is famous for its ceramics and the Schloss Ort water castle, Traunkirchen for its church on a rock, and the Salzkammergut for lakes, boats and grilled fish.
