Troodos Terra is a spring mountain trail race in the Troodos range, organised by the Dromea club. The headline distance is a marathon of about 44 km with roughly 2,000 m of climbing, alongside a 29 km via Shionistra Peak, a 15 km Green Race and a 5 km fun run. The course follows natural paths around the Troodos massif through pine forest and touches the highest point of Cyprus, Mount Olympus, with marathoners setting off in the dark at 5 am. Finishers get a shirt and a custom medal, and every runner receives a gift and a pasta party. Troodos is home to UNESCO-listed painted Byzantine churches, Kykkos Monastery, the Caledonia waterfall and mountain villages full of wine and grape-must sweets.
