Ultra Fatra is a summer ultra trail in Veľká Fatra National Park, starting and finishing in Dolný Harmanec, and it has now passed its tenth edition. The main race is a roughly 55 km loop with around 3,800 m of climbing and carries ITRA points. The route climbs to the range's highest peaks across mountain meadows, rocky ridges and nature reserves — beautiful but brutal, especially in July heat. Nearby are Banská Bystrica with its square and castle, Harmanec Cave with its bat colony and endless Veľká Fatra trails.
